2020 Dynasty Rookie Mock Draft, Five Rounds With Commentary (from the 1.11 spot)

2020 Dynasty Rookie Mock Draft, Five Rounds With Commentary (from the 1.11 spot)

1st-Round (pick 1.11)

The more I draft, the more I look at the projections/possibilities, the more I’m starting to get over my Denzel Mims fear of Sam Darnold hurting him too hard (comparative to all the fears we have on all the other rookie WRs). I’m still trading these later 1st-round picks, I’m still willing to miss out on Mims-Edwards-Pittman-Claypool-Duvernay if I can deal the picks for real players/values…and then in October 2020 or January 2021, I’ll make deals for these WR that I like at a discount…and after getting to see them play some real NFL games.

The highest ranked WRs in Dynasty or Redrafts today, ones from last year’s draft class, are A.J. Brown or D.K. Metcalf – and neither was a top three DRD pick in their respective year (they were wavering from #5-12 in their DRD class overall). The WR prospects I liked better, Diontae Johnson and Parris Campbell…not among the top five ranked WRs in ADP today among the 2019 WR class options (but they will be soon).

The WR market is flooded with currency creating an inflation. Unless I see the perfect WR in the perfect landing spot…I’ll exercise patience in the trading pits of this stock market. But having to make this pick for this exercise, I go with Denzel Mims here…and hope for Bryan Edwards next pick.

1.1 Jonathan Taylor

1.2 C. Edwards-Helaire

1.3 Jerry Jeudy

1.4 J.K. Dobbins

1.5 CeeDee Lamb

1.6 D'Andre Swift

1.7 Cam Akers

1.8 Tee Higgins

1.9 Jalen Reagor

1.10 Justin Jefferson

1.11 Denzel Mims

1.12 M. Pittman

2nd-Round (pick 2.11)

Hey, it’s my day…Edwards falls to the #23 spot!!!

2.1 Henry Ruggs III

2.2 Joe Burrow

2.3 L. Shenault

2.4 Ke'Shawn Vaughn

2.5 A.J. Dillon

2.6 Brandon Aiyuk

2.7 Joshua Kelley

2.8 A. McFarland

2.9 Tua Tagovailoa

2.10 Zack Moss

2.11 Bryan Edwards

2.12 Antonio Gibson

3rd-Round (pick 3.11)

Hey, it continues to be my day…Devin Duvernay at the #35 spot. I just got three of the 4-5 best WR talents in this rookie draft in my first three picks. I should be so lucky (and I have been this ‘lucky’ sometimes, where I didn’t trade away many picks).

3.1 Darrynton Evans

3.2 Chase Claypool

3.3 Justin Herbert

3.4 KJ Hamler

3.5 Jalen Hurts

3.6 Adam Trautman

3.7 Isaiah Coulter

3.8 Lynn Bowden Jr.

3.9 Cole Kmet

3.10 Tyler Johnson

3.11 Devin Duvernay

3.12 Lamical Perine

4th-Round (pick 4.11)

I’m going to take my solid favorites in the 4th and 5th-round. Joe Reed here…four WRs in four picks!!!

4.1 A. Gandy-Golden

4.2 Van Jefferson

4.3 Eno Benjamin

4.4 Devin Asiasi

4.5 DeeJay Dallas

4.6 Jordan Love

4.7 Albert Okwuegbunam

4.8 Gabriel Davis

4.9 Quintez Cephus

4.10 D. Peoples-Jones

4.11 Joe Reed

4.12 Isaiah Hodgins

5th-Round (pick 5.11)

Per usual, I will take TE Colby Parkinson because I believe in him…and just not to have five for five WRs out of this draft. I shoulda took Darnell Mooney just to have a clean sweep 5/5 WRs.

5.1 K.J. Hill

5.2 Thaddeus Moss

5.3 Brycen Hopkins

5.4 John Hightower

5.5 Dalton Keene

5.6 Darnell Mooney

5.7 Harrison Bryant

5.8 Josiah Deguara

5.9 Hunter Bryant

5.10 James Proche

5.11 Colby Parkinson

5.12 Jacob Eason
