Dynasty Rookie Mock Draft – Four Rounds vs. A.I. (8/19/19)

Dynasty Rookie Mock Draft – Four Rounds vs. A.I. (8/19/19)

I did a Mock Dynasty Rookie Draft this past weekend on FantasyPros just to see what would happen. I don’t normally do much DRD mocking online because I know my plan/my list/my guys and I’m actively trying to get them or trade up/back for them (and rookie draft mocks are dated and unhelpful mostly).

However, I wanted to see how drafting against their expert rankings might go these days…with half the preseason over now.

I chose the #5 spot to be in the Kyler Murray range, as I get to one way or the other.

It was a quick and easy draft and I just hit on some notes on my picks, and not much on the others unless I was moved to. It was five rounds because that’s all FantasyPros has info on for rookies, I guess.

Draft Picks

1.1 Josh Jacobs

1.2 N'Keal Harry – In reality, this is David Montgomery now almost always.

1.3 David Montgomery

1.4 Miles Sanders

1.5 Kyler Murray – As always. He was trending as the 7th ADP pick on the FantasyPros system. The sentiment has turned so ugly on him that (at least for this week) getting him top five is not an issue now.

1.6 D.K. Metcalf

1.7 A.J. Brown

1.8 Parris Campbell

1.9 T.J. Hockenson

1.10 Darrell Henderson

1.11 Devin Singletary – Surprised to see Singletary this high…he’s starting to spark. I don’t see him going much in the 1st-round this past week, so a minor surprise here.

1.12 Deebo Samuel

=================

2.1 Noah Fant

2.2 Marquise Brown

2.3 Mecole Hardman

2.4 J. Arcega-Whiteside

2.5 Diontae Johnson – I could’ve gone Johnson or Isabella. I chose Johnson to diversify from the Arizona offense, and because I just watched the Steelers 2nd preseason game and made mental ‘heart hands’ towards Diontae. I will go Isabella a bunch in DRDs as well, and have, in the 2nd-round after Kyler 1st just to pair them like a new age Mahomes-Tyreek (but not near as good).

2.6 Andy Isabella

2.7 Justice Hill

2.8 Damien Harris

2.9 Hakeem Butler

2.10 Dwayne Haskins

2.11 Bryce Love – Seriously?

2.12 Miles Boykin

====================

3.1 Rodney Anderson

3.2 Alexander Mattison

3.3 Irv Smith Jr.

3.4 Terry McLaurin

3.5 Tony Pollard – I was looking Pollard and Hurd here. I went Pollard because I might have an RB1 here Week 1 and beyond. I have time to go trade for Hurd if I wanted to, and I do.

In reality, the FantasyPros system hasn’t caught up with reality on Pollard. He’s strong 2nd-round trend now. Could be headed to the late 1st soon if another week of no-Elliott happens.

3.6 Jace Sternberger

3.7 Jalen Hurd

3.8 Kelvin Harmon

3.9 Riley Ridley

3.10 Daniel Jones

3.11 Benny Snell Jr.

3.12 Darwin Thompson -- He's a 2nd-rounder now for sure.

==========================

4.1 Myles Gaskin

4.2 Ryquell Armstead

4.3 Drew Lock

4.4 Josh Oliver

4.5 Preston Williams – I looked at Jakobi Meyers and KeeSean Johnson for a second, but this was an easy pick. He’s more a late 2nd/early 3rd in drafts I’ve seen. I’m becoming a believer…

4.6 Gary Jennings

4.7 Jakobi Meyers

4.8 Trayveon Williams

4.9 Jordan Scarlett

4.10 Dexter Williams

4.11 KeeSean Johnson

4.12 Dawson Knox

========================

5.1 James Williams – Wow is this A.I. out of date…

5.2 Bruce Anderson

5.3 Qadree Ollison

5.4 Foster Moreau

5.5 Damarea Crockett – Taking a shot Lamar Miller can be taken down, but not a lot of confidence in it.

5.6 Travis Homer

5.7 Hunter Renfrow

5.8 Emanuel Hall

5.9 Elijah Holyfield

5.10 Kahale Warring

5.11 Emmanuel Butler

5.12 Mike Weber
