2016 WR-s Prospect Grades (FINAL)

Date:
April 24, 2016

Quick notes…

-- It’s Corey Coleman and then a LONG drop down from there. I like Mitchell and Shepard, but they’re not Corey Coleman. After the first 3-4-5 on this list, it really falls off. After Coleman, there is no savior on here.

-- Braxton Miller might be better than this grade…but he might worse, a lot worse. He has not shown much ability at WR, but he’s raw and can work at it.

-- I do not understand the push by some calling Will Fuller the best WR in this draft. There is no way that is true. Not even close.

-- Tyreek Hill…dismissed from Oklahoma State, finished at West Alabama. He ran a 4.29 40-time at his Pro Day, along with a 6.53 three-cone. His measured athleticism is crazy, but his performance at OSU and West Alabama were not that exciting. I plan to do a deeper study post-draft. He’ll be a UDFA.

-- Pharoh Cooper is falling like a stone.

The prospect we’re most likely wrong about: Jordan Payton, UCLA

We might be light on our grade. He’s a polished WR, but not ‘special’. He may be more of a 7-grade than a 6+. He gets to the right team with the right QB…he could be much better than we are letting on.

The prospect graded below 6.0, who most likely goes on to be an NFL star: Daniel Braverman, W. Michigan

The ‘Wes Welker’ of this draft. 5’10/197 with terrific hands. He’s a scrapper, but he’s so small is the issue. If New England grabs him as a UDFA…you will be bludgeoned with Welker talk.
