2017 DT Prospect Grades (FINAL)

Date:
April 24, 2017

2017 NFL Draft Defensive Tackle Grades/Rankings (2.0)

Updated grades on the DT group. Their grades can and will change with new information in and we will update and add prospects to this list right up to draft day and beyond.

A few notes on our 2.0 rankings...

-- I like the possibility of Solomon Thomas as a potential poor man's Aaron Donald...but Chris Wormley is also an incredible athlete, and 20+ pound heavier. The way Wormley moves...wow. He played DE in college so he's undervalued as a stud DT move.

*Our projections on Solomon Thomas are as if he added 10+ pounds to 285 pounds.

-- Jonathan Allen...good player...slow for his size, and is a little undersized as a DE as it is. He adds weight, he gets slower. He loses weight, and he is a slow 3-4 DE. We don't see him as a major impact player for the NFL...good/useful, but not game changing.

-- We like Tanzel Smart as a sleeper, if he can improve his body...he's not in the best shape/strength...but it also means there is upside. He was a terrific player at Tulane, very energetic and all over.

-- Deep sleeper is Albany State's Grover Stewart...he looks like a man-child at the lower levels.
