2017 WR-s Prospect Grades (FINAL)

Date:
April 24, 2017

A few quick notes on the 'small' WR group…

-- In pure receiver talent terms, this group is led by Zay Jones, Taywan Taylor, and Cooper Kupp as set apart from the rest. I would not be surprised if any one of the three were the best of this class when we look back on it.

-- Curtis Samuel is a step behind the upper tier, but more so because he is a different breed -- a true receiver/runner weapon. Not a gimmick, a reality. He won't be the best pure receiver of this class, but could wind up the best statistical producer all-around.

-- Garry Brown is the small-school sleeper of this class, but he won't be drafted. He's going to have to scrap his way to prominence in the preseason a la Robby Anderson last year.

-- Fred Ross and Austin Carr are 'professional' WRs. Guys who don't jump off the screen as 'electricyfing', but could have long NFL careers.

-- Trent Taylor and Riley McCarron are in the running for top 'Wes Welker' type WR options from this class.
