2018 Sunday Week 5 -- Open Thread/Notes (Latest Update 12:28pmET)

October 7, 2018

So many things happening in a whirlwind Sunday morning…news and notes and rumors coming from all angles, plus the Video Q&A show 11-1pmET – it’s hard to communicate everything pre-kickoff.

With that in mind, I’m going to open up this post and add to it as I get info or a thought or whatever – notes before kickoff, trends happening on the Video Q&A, breaking betting lines, etc. Whatever I want to note and I’ll clearly mark it with the times so you can see what and when. God Bless us one and all…

12:22pmET: Random Notes...

-- Marquise Goodwin reportedly out...he can go for other future things in redraft.

-- Fear Mahomes-Hill double crush...go Hill solo and a decent QB over Mahomes to minimize the risk if you want to.

-- Vince Williams out for PIT, a below the radar inactive.

-- Mixon should be 15+ touches today. Not buying the 'pitch count' narrative so much.

-- Le'Veon Bell has not said he's coming back Week 7...only ESPN has.

-- Texans DST v. BUF next week, for a pickup ahead idea

-- Assuming Alfred Blue starts without Miller 98% sure.

10:03amET: Handicapping...

The H-Group is 7-3-1 when all five of us agree on a pick/bet YTD -- OAK, ARI, LAR are 5-0 agreements this week.

The H-Group is 6-1 on Blazing Fives YTD when three+ agree (and usually it is only 3 at best that agree on one thing in B5), and this week it's ARI and OAK.

But note -- ARI in the B5 this week is the first time we had all five of us pick the same play and Colin Cowherd also doing the same. 'Shocker' this line is down to +3.0 ARI...but we all got in +4.0, +4.5 days ago.

The Computer has been screaming DET all week...the line has gone from DET +1.0 to GB -1.0 now.

9:34amET: Thinking ahead...

Cameron Brate Week 6, post BYE, with Winston -- legit TE1 hopeful for a few weeks without OJ Howard.

Hayden Hurst -- Very hard to see him seizing full control/stats right away...he could be weeks before he's up to speed and always splitting with the 27 other Ravens TEs.

Greg Olsen -- Supposedly back next week, but I gotta believe he comes back slow...and probably not next week.

8:55amET: Initial feel for the inactive/actives...

Keke Coutee -- more likely out than in

Alfred Blue -- Lamar Miller almost surely out and Blue will see 15+ carries and 2-3 targets

Geronimo Allison -- very likely out, and possibly out next week.

Davante Adams -- Good-to-go

Dalvin Cook -- Almost surely out. Lat Murray has been pretty weak in his stead so far.

Matt Breida -- Ready to roll

Larry Fitzgerald -- Fine

Will Fuller -- Looks more like he's playing than not

Leonard Fournette -- Obviously out, but talk of him getting clear next week. May not be the total doom & gloom of 3-4 weeks.

WEATHER ALERT -- Expected to be a rainy, slippery game in KC...possibly VERY heavy rain.

Possible light rain for Rams v. Seattle
