2018 Sunday Week 6 -- Open Thread/Notes (10:47amET)

October 14, 2018

2018 Sunday Week 6 -- Open Thread/Notes

So many things happening in a whirlwind Sunday morning…news and notes and rumors coming from all angles, plus the Video Q&A show 11-1pmET – it’s hard to communicate everything pre-kickoff.

With that in mind, I’m going to open up this post and add to it as I get info or a thought or whatever – notes before kickoff, trends happening on the Video Q&A, breaking betting lines, etc. Whatever I want to note and I’ll clearly mark it with the times so you can see what and when. God Bless us one and all…

*moving fast, forgive typos

-- Brate with OJH back...he's not dead but it puts a scare in. C.J. Uzomah with NO Tyler Kroft...no barriers for CJU this week.

-- Ryan Tannehill now expect 'out', ditto Chris Thompson.

-- Defensive pairing to consider (NE and IND DST). Taking the best matchup each week between them, take a look (listed by QB)...

Wk7: Allen v. IND

Wk8: Allen v. NE

Wk9: Rodgers v. NE (THE ONE ISSUE, Indy on bye)

Wk10: Mariota v. NE

Wk11: Mariota v. IND

Wk12: Darnold v. NE

Wk13: Bortles v. IND

Wk14: Tannehill v. NE

Wk15: Dak v. IND

Wk16: Allen v. NE

-- Keep in mind...Week 7 starts the MORE teams on BYEs. Weeks 7-11 have 4 or 6 teams on ice each week.

-- Quincy Enunwa not showing on injury report...had a hidden soft cast on his hand last week. I'd not push him this week unless you need to. Not sure if he's clear or has this minor issue he's carrying.

-- I am told by a semi-reliable source that Greg Zuerlein should be good-to-go Week 7, FYI.

-- Reminder for those rocking the Bears-DST…vs. Brady/NE next week. The Bills face Indy-DST next week, FYI.

-- Handicapping changes based on latest info/injury reports…

Moving to Seattle over the Raiders (was lean Raiders earlier in week) and now Carolina over Washington

Was closer in our earlier analysis, now getting stronger: CLE and BAL

Was a strong play starting the week, but moving to less confidence: KC and JAC

-- Injury to watch: CB Will Jackson, CIN…if he’s out the Steelers +points moves into ‘best bet of the year’ territory.

-- One thing to keep in mind on the Jags and Leonard Fournette ahead…the Jags on rocking a 3rd-string left tackle now; they are getting hit with injuries. Defenses already stack the box as it is…and now O-Line corruption.

-- LAR at Denver…20+ degrees and snow flurries. Going to hurt the deep ball play some but you watch the Rams move to a smart small ball plan and slice them apart. It is an affect for West coasters not used to the cold and there will be a cold hands drop in the game, I’m sure…but cold with flurries isn’t pure devastation on a passing game. It’s a dip on the projections for the passing game but not a devastation.

Robert Woods played in Buffalo for years. Brandin Cooks was in New England last season. Goff played at Cal and then with the Rams.

Goff at TEN Week 16 last season, 39 degrees, 11 MPH winds: 301 yards, 4 TDs/0 INT.
