7:29pmET: Week 6 Projections updated through PHI-CAR inactives
Handicap Chat on TNF game posting by 7:40pm -- The very HOT Computer is giving a slight nod to CAR -3.5
7:00pmET: Based on the latest ruling the Ezekiel Elliott suspension could start Week 7 if no further actions are taken, but likely there will be some attempt to fight/delay.
Will Tye signing with the Patriots might mean something other than a secret Gronk issue -- (1) Dwayne Allen is about to get himself bounced. (2) The Pats play the Jets and Tye was just on the Jets for a spell -- some inside info?
2:15pmET: Many of you started to tear up at the news today that David Johnson isn't expected back until Week 12 -- says coach Bruce Arians. Let me ask...what's in it for him if he announces/speculates DJ can come back Week 10 vs. Seattle? Why give Seattle that head's up? Maybe he will be out all year, but Arians has no benefit is guessing or knowing it will be earlier...it just helps the other team's prepare. It also pushes off all the questions on it until later in the year no everyone chirping to start November.
I don't know when DJ returns, or if. I think it depends upon the Cardinals situation. DJ owners need Arizona to win this week...to get to 3-3. We need them like 4-5/5-4 heading to Seattle Week 10. 5-5 with playoff hopes Week 11. If they lose four in a row to go to 2-7...I don't think DJ is going to be rushed.
10:30amET: Why don't the Giants trade Eli Manning to Jacksonville to reunite with Tom Coughlin? The Jags are a QB away from a title run. Obviously, Eli + Coughlin. The Giants are going nowhere. It would be the perfect timing to do such a thing -- fire the coach and trade Eli the same time during the upcoming BYE week. It makes too much sense so it won't happen because at the end of the day -- teams are run pandering to the vocal, face-painting fans, but more so the media.
The most value the Giants will ever get out of Eli is trading him right now. Go 1-15 this season and get one of the those overrated high pick QBs in 2018.
Or pay Eli $22M next year and go 4-12 and delay the inevitable another year.
How the Jaguars haven't already made a trade for a QB is beyond me...the arrogance of it all. A real shot to win the division...and they're sticking by Bortles.
9:05amET: All Picks ATS by the Computer now posted (Home page, scroll down to standard articles -- we're working on adding a tab for Handicapping at the top of home page)
-- Tyler Eifert done for the year -- I think Tyler Kroft offers as much TE1 potential as most of the more favored suspect TE1s hopefuls...ASJ, etc. I also believe Kroft will be the Benglals 2018 starter as well.
-- I wonder if the Carlos Hyde 'hot hand' talk is just code to the league for 'come get Hyde in a trade'? The 49ers don't want him. He's coming up contract. They aren't re-signing him. Just trade him so you can start wizard draft pick Joe Williams...
