Daily Commentary WED 9/27...(11:11pm ET)

September 27, 2017

Just to communicate on things happening due to injury, etc., but not wanting to wait until I do the full game analysis, I'm going to try a new feature -- opening up a page Mon.-Wed/Thu on things happening as it effects waivers, etc. I'll drop in tidbits as they hit me. Typing it fast/dropping it in without double checking so forgive any typos.

*Time of last update will be noted in the article title so you can track whether you need to click in or not.

11:01pmET: Multiple people have asked me about Bruce Ellington in the past hour. Is everyone pranking me? It's a good question because he had a moment last week. But Will Fuller is expected back this week and Ellington is likely to go back to no man's land. I liked him with Tom Savage...not so much with Deshaun Watson.

8:05pmET: Projections Updated

7:44pm: C.J. Prosise out 1-3 weeks...here comes J.D. McKissic to be used in that role, supposedly. I don't know that JDMK will see enough work for FF, won't get enough touches, but Carson may want to watch out because McKissic might become the new 'shiny thing' and get a few carries and a good amount of targets...and does something with them. McKissic can capture attention like Carson in a different style/way.

5:02pmET: I am hearing Mike Daniels and the injured OLs for GB are likely out for TNF.

5:00pmET: Well, now Shane Vereen is banged up. I'll have to change my surprise RB of the week and up my Eli Manning love for Week 4.

2:35pmET: Noah Spence dislocated shoulder. Kwon Alexander and Brent Grimes out last week, not 100% sure of their status this week. Lavonte David out this week. The Bucs defense is falling apart. You gotta love a big day for Eli and friends this week, including as a gambler.

Hmmm...all the Bucs starting linebackers could be out this week. What Giants offensive option might that benefit? Hmmm...

2:00pmET: My bad. I saw Krishawn Hogan got called up...in my mind he was with the Cards, but the Colts grabbed him and put him on the P-Squad. That's a good sign/opportunity...better than Arizona.

12:30pmET: Sam Bradford didn't practice today, Zimmer says, "Rest Day." I'm told he's not likely to play and they aren't sure when/if he'll be able to. It's one of the reasons why Kyle Sloter was rushed to the main roster. Teddy Bridgewater may be 4 games away! Sloter is one hit away.

Imagine Keenum goes out, Sloter comes in and becomes a cult figure and then a few weeks later the Vikes have Bradford ready, Bridgewater back, and Sloter as a cult hero!

10:25amET: Travaris Cadet signed, so I expect Matt Forte to miss 1-3 weeks and Bilal Powell to get the bulk of the work for the 1-1 Jets, a win against the Jags away from bring in first place in the AFC East if other things fell right for them Sunday. The Jets have (false) life so they will push Powell and throw the kitchen sink at the Jags.

-- We're working on different things on the new website, but note there are only three places new articles/work will show up.

From the home page...

1) Game Recaps to the left hand side

2) 'Premium' Articles...stuff not meant for the outside world. Right in the middle, big block dates showing.

3) 'Standard' Articles...these are open articles and ones you have to work for. They are up the middle on the home page, but under the 'Standard' articles. You don't see new ones of these on most devices/screens without scrolling down a moment. Yes, it's convoluted but we're working on it -- apparently, not as easy to make everything just show up in order without a possible calamity messing with the set up.

You can also see things more orderly under the 'R.C.'s articles' tab or Game Recaps from the top of home page.

Also note -- 'Search' bar upper right...type in any player and what articles we've tagged to that player is there all in one spot. it will take time to build it up and chronicle the past but we're working on it.
