FFM Player Valuation Alert: T.Y. Hilton and Michael Pittman
Because there were a lot of questions pertaining to them on the Video Q&A, I just watched all the Colts passing plays watching Hilton and Pittman to see what I saw (to see if TYH is a worry), and I wanted to report out on it quickly for waivers deadlines…
My quick take:
1) Hilton is not ‘shot’, not a major worry. He looks like he’s lost a step, but he was getting open and doing well enough. He was covered well time-to-time but there were other things working for Rivers, so he went there.
The big news is – not ‘shot’, but definitely lost a step.
2) Rivers is not looking at/leaning on/forcing to Hilton like a junior Keenan Allen…so, that’s a worry on that level. Hilton is just another guy Rivers might throw to, what I see so far. No desperation to get it to him…there’s more comfort of Rivers-Parris (but gone) or Rivers-Hines (but, oddly, barely played here).
3) Pittman looks like Allen Lazard without having Aaron Rodgers to throw to him, and Lazard is not heavily targeted (yet) with that. Pittman led all Colts’ WRs with 6 targets…so, he is the non-TY guy. He looked fine, but against a sad Vikings pass defense…4-37-0/6 isn’t exciting for Fantasy.
Better days might be ahead.
T.Y. Hilton is a WR2 hold…not buy or sell.
Pittman is a WR3-3.5 to sit on and see if he develops more into a WR2-2.5…tough to do as a rookie.
