Quincy Enunwa or Marquise Goodwin?
This matters to many FFM’ers because Enunwa goes tonight, and we have injured Goodwin we’re trying to figure out. It wouldn’t matter as much -- but Goodwin vs. KC is a supreme matchup.
All we know right now is Goodwin is practicing in a limited capacity. A deep thigh bruise that hasn’t seemed to ‘go away’. He has yet to commit that he will be ready. If Goodwin was 100%, there’s no question on matchup you go Goodwin over Enunwa this week…but we got this injury hanging over our heads.
The logical way to play it, unfortunately, is to go with Enunwa because you know he’s playing. There’s still room to get a bad ‘surprise’ on Goodwin later this week and then you miss out on both.
Playing Enunwa tonight gives the luxury of seeing whether you do need to cram Goodwin in somewhere Sunday or not, do you need make-up points from an Enunwa dud, or Q did you right?
You could skip Quincy tonight, bet on Goodwin, and if he is an inactive…if you got a Keelan Cole in the hole, you’re in good enough shape, perhaps.
Whatever you do, just as a disclaimed, don’t burn your Flex position with this. If you start Quincy tonight, do it as a WR, and keep your flex position open for business/options.
“There Are No RBs Left On Waivers…”
Two long-shot names to consider:
-- I don’t think Marlon Mack is going to play, and if the Eagles control this game and Indy gets into an all-pass frenzy comeback attempt – it will be Nyheim Hines receiving the benefits. He has 7 catches in Week 1 in a similar spot.
-- Corey Grant finally got used as a pass game weapon last week. Maybe, just maybe, it will dawn on the coaching staff that it’s a good thing? If the Jags jump all over the Titans with Fournette trying to get back to 100% and Yeldon banged up…the Jags could hit the brakes on Fournette/Yeldon and run Grant/Wilds some in a blowout. Or Fournette is a surprise scratch and ‘boom’ Grant is the guy (with Yeldon now banged up).
Wide Receivers Fading Away (Maybe Not)…
Two WRs I hate because they did not pay-off right away and I passed up other guys on waivers after Week 1 because of it…
-- Jordy Nelson still has a chance to matter, to be the Raiders #1 after what I saw on tape Week 2. However, it’s the Raiders passing game (yuck) and I don’t have all season to wait around. If you see better options, bolt.
-- Same for Taylor Gabriel…if you have better options.
I’m very intrigued by the 4 carries Week 2. I know he’s a homerun hitting WR, so it just takes one play…and he got 5 catches Week 1 and 4 catches Week 2 + the 4 carries. Those are good touch counts. He just hasn’t popped one yet. If/when he does…it will change everything about him for you/me/them in an instant.
…or he has another quiet performance…
I’m just saying, he’s not dead just yet…but not a MUST keep guy either (12-team/redraft)
