6:32pmET: How bout that Chargers DST?
Starbucks e-gifts make a lovely gift to people you love the most on this day...and they are so easy to send electronically ;)
12:09pmET: Week 11 Projections updated
Under-the-radar 1pmET inactives...
-- Andre Ellington inactive...I wonder if there are issues behind the scenes, not that Ellington matters for the Cards with AP
-- MIN has a starting OL (Remmers) out, Brian Robison out, and starting safety Andrew Sendejo.
-- When starting KC OL Parker Ehinger is out, the Chiefs have had a tougher time running...but it is v. NYG.
-- Eli Apple inactive...nice draft oick from 2016...
-- Quinton Dunbar out...Redskins secondary much better with him. He didn't play much last week and MIN went off on a good secondary.
11:38amET: No Kevin King for GB...they don't have anyone who can cover anyone. Jeremy Maclin is a legit play this week.
11:33amET: Sepfania Bell made a good point on Leonard Fournette -- he never expressed concern about his ankle all week, just talked about the cold. His Friday missed practice day looks like a rest day, which is smart...and they have to give a reason for missed practice (ankle).
11:32amET: Sterling Shepard out
11:30amET: Fournette active! Great...good luck tossing and turning about that one!!
NFL Weather issues?...
-- JAC-CLE game keeps improving. Wind speeds declining down under 15 MPH. Just cold (35-40).
-- BAL at GB...cold...25-28 degrees
-- KC at NYG...windy 20 +/- MPH
10:48amET: Is there anything worse than the 1-2 minute sideline reports on ESPN in the pregame or NFL Network for that matter? Hey, congratulations...you got to go to a press conference and ask a football person a question and now you're acting like you're a genius because you get to say say your favorite line...I ASKED ____ and HE TOLD ME _____. And it's always something totally stupid...like: I ASKED Dak Prescott how he would avoid getting sacked this game, and HE TOLD ME he was confident in his O-Line. Really? Awesome. Great job reading the teleprompter. Great question. I have never heard one intelligent, pressing question or follow up reported from these shills.
My career as a sideline reporter would be short lived...I ASKED John Fox why he isn't using Tarik Cohen as a weapon. HE TOLD ME he likes him but it's about 3rd down protection. I THEN ASKED -- What do you mean? You have three practice squad WRs that bad teams didn't want...that's your WR group. Cohen could've been converted to WR...hell, you used him as a flanker 50% of the time in the first three weeks of the season and it was awesome. What does blocking have to do with playing as a WR type RB/WR hybrid...and you're already been doing it but you've taken it away recently. You're playing Josh Bellamy more than Cohen...are you trying to lose? I could go back in a time machine, go to MTV, grab Bill Bellamy and have the same talent at WR you have...which is none. What are you thinking? What kind of answer is 3rd down protection with Cohen? Does Carolina ask that of Christian McCaffrey? Does KC ask Tyreek Hill to block?
10:35amET: Fournette status still unknown. Consider...
-- The Jags haven't made a decision yet, and everyone is asking...so, you assume they're waiting to the last second to make him inactive. To keep CLE guessing and still preparing somewhat for Fournette.
-- The Jags have two starting OLs potentially out for this game, one for sure.
-- CLE good against the run bad against the pass
-- JAC can win without Fournette and it's more important he stay healthy for what's ahead. So, even if he plays they will rotate him and eventually sit him if they get up big.
-- The festival of injuries continues for, seemingly, 'my' players.
Sterling Shepard...migraines. Why push him if you're NYG? The season is already lost. I lose Shepard, and this allows KC to focus on Evan Engram. Tavarres King, I guess, looks like the WR who is earning some trust but I'd look elsewhere.
Leonard Fournette and his ankle...why push it against CLE? Once up 14-0, or 21-3...you expect Fournette to be handling a workload? You almost have a gun to your head -- if he is active you have to play him unless you have other strong options. I think he's likely to be inactive as Marrone sends another message.
So, if you're team is falling apart this critical Sunday morning and free agency has been picked over...where do you turn?
*I assume we don't need to talk about Bruce Ellington or Josh Doctson, etc., as obvious options -- I reaching deeper here...
T.J. Yeldon for PPR vs. CLE, since he's got strong activity with Fournette last week. Maybe, Ivory non-PPR...I guess.
Theo Riddick with Dwayne Washington out, maybe he gets the goal line work and catches 4-5-6 passes?
You could hope Andre Ellington, J.D. McKissic, or Tarik Cohen gets a push in PPR due to the game circumstances. Cohen returns kicks, so if that matters you could maybe get lucky on one return.
Jeremy Maclin is out there in 35%+ of leagues...he is the #1 target for Flacco vs. that awful Packers secondary.
Ted Ginn could have 'one of those games' with two big play/long scores...and he returns punts.
Cole Beasley...if Dallas has to change its offense they would, seemingly, go to a quick pass to avoid sacks offense...perhaps, Beasley has one of those 7+ catch games?
Perhaps Kenny Golladay has his moment of playing 40-50+ snaps (11 last week in his return) and drops multiple TDs, as he did opening day and did in the preseason.
Tyrell Williams in warm weather against a fading Bills pass defense.
Keelan Cole happens with Allen Hurns out and Marqise Lee getting attention.
Taylor Gabriel is due for a long TD.
