Week 17 Random FF Notes (THU edition)

Date:
December 26, 2019

Random notes for this week's plays...

-- Communicating with a source...they expect the Vikings to play starters for a series or two in Week 17 to keep their routines going into their playoff week, and to try to get the offense a successful series after their debacle last week vs. GB.

-- Mike Boone didn't get a full chance to make his mark in Week 16, as the whole offense died. Boone should get another chance Week 17 as Cook-Mattison sit (they have no reason to play). How much Ameer Abdullah plays is up in the air as far as getting too excited about Boone. Zimmer has never shown a desire to push Boone, no reason for him to change now.

-- Absolutely...Christian McCaffrey will play a full game or near it to push him to get 67 receiving yards to have 1,000+ on the season and hope to get 216 yards to set a single season yardage record. And there are other incentives/records at stake in catches, TDs as well.

File it under things ridiculous lame duck coaches do when they want to enhance their resume and have no concern for the team's asset being put at risk for no reason. If McCaffrey tears his ACL trying to break records, I wonder how cute the Turner's will think it is then. Honestly, they won't care...they're gone anyway. Sad.

David Tepper -- they are driving your premium sports car to the McDonald’s drive thru and doing donuts in the parking lot with it...it’s your fault, you gave the kids the keys to your ride.

For fantasy...play McCaffrey to get that 216 yard record. I'm upping my estimates through the roof on him this weekend.

-- Darrell Henderson was in prime position for big touches Week 17, assuming Todd Gurley is sat...but Hendo hasn't practiced this week with an ankle injury. If Henderson can't go, Malcolm Brown is in line for a huge week.

-- Speaking of the Rams and Week 17, Sean McVay is talking like he's playing his starters and trying to win. He might begin with the starters but then quickly turn to backups. McVay has shown a propensity to not play starters at all in meaningless games. I don't think the starters would play more than a series or two at best, but my bet is 0-1 series they'll play...and then good luck with Blake Bortles

-- I think Sean McDermott is going to rest a lot of Bills’ starters this week, even if that means they start for a series or two and then go out. He's given some indication he wants to sit guys.

-- Ryan Tannehill has several performance bonuses in range, and many of them are passer-statistic related...and some are achievable Week 17, while others he'd have to have a monster fame...expect him to go-for-it more than not.

-- Adrian Peterson has $500K on the line if he can rush for 180 yards Week 17, to surpass a very involved set of metrics but one of them being AP rushes for 1,000+. Knowing AP...get ready for a 200+ yard day or die trying.

-- Larry Fitzgerald is closing on some contract incentives, so expect him to play out Week 17.

-- Tyler Lockett has good money on the line (incentive/contract-wise) for scoring a TD, and a lot more with a 2nd TD Week 17.
