Savage: I was sort of surprised to see I was the only one on the 49ers in this game. The Packers really haven't played a complete game all year, and it hasn't been that tough of a schedule. Even their 22-0 shutout of the Bills was mostly sloppy and unimpressive. They're once again being brought down by Mike McCarthy and his insistence that Jamaal Williams lead the team in touches. I think the offense will be shaky again tonight and I think the Niners will be able to score on the Packers defense, which struggles to get any pass rush. Plus, its always nice to be getting a ton of points with the better coach. Am I giving the 49ers too much credit, or am I being too pessimistic about the Packers?
Katz: The NFL makes no sense so I wouldn't be completely surprised to see the 49ers compete here, but man are they bad. The Packers don't even have to be sharp to cover this. A quick 7-0 lead. A few field goals. Some CJ Beathard turnovers/sacks. And all of a sudden it's 17-3 at the half. That's the type of game I think we see here.
Rabbitt: You get CJ Beathard and 9.5. I get Aaron Rogers. That is my entire argument.
Skol: Kind of odd that there really isn’t a lot of handicapping they I can find on this game. Everyone is assuming GB blowout is a foregone conclusion. I read today that the 49ers are pretty mad about getting flexed out of SNF next week so there feeling a little disrespected. GB wants to run the ball more...I think those will be enough for me to take the Niners in the first half. For the game (and possibly the first half) I think SF has too many injuries. Books need SF bad...but the line is hanging at 9...a lot seems weird about this.
RC: I think SF four out of five games within 9 is drawing the line in. The Packers with no Cobb/Allison is taken bad news, I'm not moved by it. SF with Breida active seems like good news, but I don't think he's a huge difference maker. I think Green Bay playing on Monday Night at home is such an edge, much less the QB edge. Green Bay is the obvious choice to win but will it be by 9+? The 49ers have played poorly in every game I've watched them this season. Losing to ARI...at SF...by 10 is probably a warning sign. The 49ers are competing to be one of the worst teams in the NFL without JG...I have to go Aaron Rodgers against a bottom barrel team at GB on MNF with the Pack about to go on a BYE.
The Packers might be more dangerous without Allison-Cobb and with MVS and the potential breakout night for Equanimeous St. Brown. Green Bay might put on an MNF show tonite.
