Coming Up on FFM-CFM-DOBB This Week (New CFM Segment and 2020 Devy Request)…

So much football stuff I’m working on right now, I can hardly keep it all straight (which is glorious). Plus, I’m adding more new stuff to add to the madness…and there is one thing I could use help on if you’re so inclined:

-- The next 2019 Dynasty Rookie Draft rankings (top 300) update will post Wednesday…just a quick update from the long weekend’s activities, and then again Friday to be ready for the weekend of drafting.

-- The next Dynasty Offseason/Best Ball (DOBB) rankings update for both Dynasty and Best Ball and the IDP top 450 will run on Friday ahead of draft weekend.

-- New segment on CFM starts tomorrow (5/29/19)…a ‘Quick Hit’ scouting follow up on players I have questions on, and you have questions on, and that didn’t make that cut for a full scale scouting study/report so far.

I’m going to watch 2-4 games on some notorious prospects, and I’ve done preview work on them ahead of the Senior Bowl and/or Combine and/or NFL Draft before, but this is a double-check to see if I am missing anything – because I worry that I am. Each player I’ve selected has a different trigger, which I will touch on why I am cross-checking them in their report.

I will go through and watch a few more of their college games, look at some more data, and write shorthand reaction notes as I go. I am going to simply type out those notes and thoughts, run a system comparison, and discuss (at the end) if my mind is changed, etc. It will be a report about 50-70% the size and depth of my full-scale reports.

I’m doing a scaled down version so that I can hit several players quickly and report out. If I land on a major ‘something’ that radically changes my initial scouting and computer scouting model grades, I’ll dig deeper and do a bigger report/more intensive study.

The first five names out of the chute (and we’ll publish on a day for a while)…

Josh Oliver

Jace Sternberger

Quincy Williams

Darnell Savage

J.J. Arcega-Whiteside

-- Xavier Cromartie and my 2019 Faux Season/Computer simulations are ending today, but we’ve been working on a chat going over each division and some of our differences/strong feelings about various teams. Those chats will publish (one for each division) over the next few weeks.

-- My next daily news report on random things – I am going to touch on Baker Mayfield v. Colin Cowherd. My ‘daily’ report will continue every day or two or three as I accumulate things to talk about in the summer. And then true daily released notes when training camps open up.

-- I’m still hard at work on the 2019 FFM Draft Guide package. Projected release is mid-June. More details on all things included this season as we get closer to launch date (which is suddenly not far away…)

-- INFO REQUEST…

As you may or may not know…I do not watch college football much in-season. I spend all of January-July gorging on  the prior season(s) to study rookies hitting the NFL, but I’m not really focused on players still in college. I couldn’t name the top five prospects for the 2020 NFL Draft…except I know there is the Alabama QB and Clemson QB and the Oregon QB (who I previewed scouted last summer – and, no thanks…not a top guy to me at all). Outside of that, I really don’t know the best prospects to look at.

I’m going to preview a few of the top 2020 names, of which I build a prelim work list from the early media rankings, but I ask -- if you know of players I should be looking at for 2020, outside of the obvious, as always…I ask you at this time of year – please, send me a note on what prospects I should be looking at, and maybe why you think so (if not a top media name). Help me build my preview list. I cannot guarantee I’ll get to every name, but I’ll do 3-5 top names at every position (including IDPs).

I’m going to start looking at 2020 guys in the next week or so and reporting out on them ASAP. I will also start adding them to the 2019 Dynasty Rookie Draft board just for some context as well.

Send any 2020 considerations to me at = rc4metrics@gmail.com
