H-Chat Wk5: LAC at NYG (-3.5)

October 8, 2017 12:53 PM
October 8, 2017 12:51 PM

*This is the transcript of our Handicapping group wager chat for this particular game. Taking it as it is, so forgive any typos, etc. It's just casual opinions shared. Also, we may veer way off topic but that's half the fun of it.

FFM Computer: 39-24, B5 13-7

Savage: 38-25; Blazing 5: 10-10; Best Bet: 2-2

Skolman: 33-30; Blazing 5: 12-8; Best Bet: 2-2

Katz: 31-32; Blazing 5: 8-12; Best Bet: 1-3

Rabbitt: 33-30; Blazing 5: 12-8; Best Bet: 2-2

RC: 33-30 Blazing 5: 11-9; Best Bet: 1-3

Katz: I want to talk about this game for multiple reasons. Discussing which 0-4 team will get a win is interesting. And I'll never pass up an opportunity to laugh at the fact that the Giants are 0-4. We have the standard home three points here with the winless Giants hosting the winless Chargers traveling from the west coast to the east coast to play a 1:00 game.

RC: I think the Giants losing their center on top of all the other O-Line issues is a big strike against them here. The Chargers have good pieces if they could just put it together to win a damn game…or at least cover here, I’m good.

I don’t know if anyone is taking LAC in Blazing Five at this writing, but I did and Is aw Colin did. It scares me when everyone starts thinking alike!

Katz: I certainly won't have the Chargers in my Blazing 5, but I do think both of these teams have no business being 0-4. In a game between two talented teams that are exceptional at finding ways to lose, I'll take the points. However, I am also going to be forced to start Rivers in a fantasy league this week because of Mariota's hamstring. Whenever I start Rivers, he typically throws no touchdowns and multiple picks. If that happens, the Giants will win handily.

Rabbitt: I'm actually on the Giants here, seems like I'm the lone wolf. Maybe I should howl stupidly so we can all giggle?  I like the Giants pieces better than the Chargers, however neither team has proved to me they want to win a football game, so I'll take the east coast team traveling across the country.

Savage: I took the Giants as well. The center being out may be a problem, but their O-line play has been much better in weeks 3 and 4 than it was in the first 2 games. To me these teams are very similar except the Giants have OBJ and may somehow have the better coach.

If you like the Chargers, I'd see what kind of odds you can get on McAdoo being the first coach fired. I don't think he'd make it to week 6 if they dropped a home game to go to 0-5.

RC: What does anyone think if both JPP and Vernon are out? That’s a killer.
