*This is the transcript of our Handicapping group wager chat for this particular game. Taking it as it is, so forgive any typos, etc. It's just casual opinions shared. Also, we may veer way off topic but that's half the fun of it.
Katz: I think we're in for a Monday night shootout. Kirk Cousins is 0-5 career on Monday night. Are the Eagles really this good?
Skolman: This is a B5 for me (which this week hasn’t been a good thing). So I’m pretty much locked in to the Skins, I think it’s interesting that they won’t have Norman and possibly a few others and the line crept down. I still feel like I want the points in a division battle that Philly wants but Washington needs.
I’ll probably check back with more thoughts later.
Rabbitt: I still think Philly is a fraud. However this is starting to remind me of how last year I kept saying over and over the Raiders were bad and they kept winning. Maybe this week will be my week...
Katz: The Eagles actually remind me a bit of the Falcons from last year. I loved the Falcons win total under before the 2016 season. I didn't bet it, but it wouldn't have gone well if I did. I did bet the Eagles under 8 wins and that's already a loss. I'm trying to learn from my mistakes and accept that a team is good before like week 16. With that being said, 4.5 is too many. Give me Washington.
Savage: I think the Eagles are showing you can go a long way with good line play and not very many injuries. They're a decent team, lucky to be 5-1 but definitely deserving of 4-2.
I picked Philly because of all the Washington injuries. The Eagles do a good job of protecting Wentz, so he should have plenty of time to pick apart this beat up secondary. After watching the Eagles defense against the Panthers, I'm going to predict they blow up a Chris Thompson screen pass in the backfield.
RC: I think this is the battle of the inactives…
If Washington can’t run with B. Breeland they are really cooked without Josh Norman already. Two starting CBs out kills.
The Eagles could be with or without Hicks-Darby-Kendricks…and that would be a game changer in either direction.
At full strength, I think Washington is the superior team but minus Norman it’s trouble…and minus Breeland too is real trouble.
Watch the WR to CB UDFA convert Quinton Dunbar to step up and make a name for himself/save the Redskins season…or get in over his head and cost them the game. I’ve really liked what I’ve seen here…if he’s a star out of nowhere it changes the Redskins dramatically.
