H-Group Chat Week 10: MIA at CAR (-9.0)

Date:

November 13, 2017 8:11 PM

Through Week 9 records...

The Computer: 75-54-3, B5: 35-10

Rabbitt: 70-59-3, B5: 26-19

Savage: 70-59-3, B5: 25-20

Skolman: 70-59-3, Blazing Five: 22-22-1

RC: 68-61-3, B5: 30-15

Katz: 62-67-3, B5: 23-20-1

Colin: B5: 26-19

Katz: Not the most exciting of Monday night games. This is a lot of points. Is it too many?

RC: Last time Cam played on Monday Night (a chance to push his brand), was late last year when the Panthers were dying and Cam’s numbers were bad and they play the Redskins who were making a serious wild card run, entering the game 7-5-1…a must win AT Washington.

Carolina rocked them 26-15 and Cam dropped 300 yards passing, 2 TD/0 INT.

I have a feeling we get focused Cam tonight in a must-win for the playoffs.

On the other hand, the Computer likes Miami a bit here to spoil the party and at least cover. It’s not a strong play at all. As a bettor, looking at The Computer’s data…I wouldn’t bet, but if I did it would be Miami +points.

Katz: I can't remember the last time there was an isolated game where I cared so little about the outcome. I want (and will) take the 9 points because I think it's too many, but I can easily see this game going a number of ways. Things don't make sense in the NFL. Cam should be able to impose his will on the Dolphins, but things rarely go according to plan. If Jay Cutler cares even a little bit, that could be enough to keep this game close. I do think Carolina wins in the end, but I don't think the Dolphins are completely dead. I don't like picking underdogs I don't think can win. I think there's an outside shot the Dolphins can win.

Skolman:   You guys aren’t alone...real life line is now 8.5.  I put this in my blazing five because of Monday Night Cam vs the Dolphins defense and because I think the Carolina defense really good.  Also a bet on Carolina’s desire to show that the post Benjamin offense is good.  No matter who has the ball it’s advantage Carolina in my opinion.  I think the Dolphins will be several possessions away from a back door cover.

Rabbitt: I care so much about this game that I forgot who I took in it.

Savage: No real strong feelings. Vegas is begging everyone to take the points with the Dolphins, which is why I'm scared to do it.

My concern would be that Carolina could dominate this game and win 17-9 or something like that. It would be one thing if they were only laying a TD, but their offense just isn't good enough for me to feel comfortable laying more than that.
