The Jason Katz Cowboys Super Bowl Season 2017 Tour...Week 16

You may know Jason Katz from his published football work on sites like FantasyPros. You may also know him as a member of our Handicapping Group. You may also know him, or will get to know him as a die-hard Dallas Cowboys' fan.

I asked Jason to follow the Cowboys for us all year...for fandom and fantasy. I did so, because he's convinced, like most fan(atic)s that thinking something good will happen will jinx it to not make it so. I have a different theory -- when I see a jinx potential, I pour it on to reverse the jinx. I see a jinx and yell 'this is a jinx' just to spit in the face of the jinx. The Dallas Cowboys are going to win the Super Bowl this season, and I am not a biased fan...and the more I say it...the more it's likely to come true...and the more l say it...the more likely Jason loses sleep and hair follicles.

Jason is a talented young writer, so please enjoy him manically following the 'Boys...but also sharing fantasy ideas, as his blood runs FFM green and CFM crimson.

Dez Bryant has some nerve complaining on the sidelines for targets and then finally catching a pass and fumbling.

Ryan Switzer is so talented, but so stupid. He has no idea when to bring a kick out of the end zone or just take a touchback.

At one point, Seattle ran five consecutive plays for Mike Davis. I get that he’s kind of good, but really?

Then they ran three consecutive runs up the middle to go three and out. Seattle’s offensive game plan is one of the worst in NFL history.

Dak Prescott’s pick 6 in the third quarter was horrendous. That’s really all I have to say.

Ezekiel Elliott’s return didn’t make a lick of a difference. The offense looked just as stagnant as it has the past month. The problem is the lack of receiving talent. No one is open…ever.

Dak’s second third quarter pick was 100% on Dez because Dez sucks at football. I hate him.

How does a team have first and goal from the three yard line and end up missing a 34 yard field goal? Just to recap. The Cowboys had first and goal from the three, did not turn the ball over, and ended up with zero points.

1st and 20 for the Seahawks was no issue.

Overall, this was an embarrassing game for the Cowboys. Dak did not play well and I don’t want to jump to conclusions in stating that perhaps he just isn’t that good because obviously the weapons he has to throw to are amongst the worst in the league, but this was ugly.

The season is obviously over so RC will have to find a new Super Bowl team. I’ll be taking up the Rams mantle in the playoffs because I love Sean McVay. As for the future of the Cowboys, I think Dak’s postgame comments about Dez are confirmation of Dez’s fate – he’s gone. This team has a rising defense and the offensive line, when healthy, is still one of the best. Assuming Dak actually is quite good, the team’s primary need is wide receiver. When’s the last time this team signed a big name pass catcher? Terrell Owens? Come on Jerry. Open up that checkbook and go pay someone. Since drafting Dez, the Cowboys have done nothing to bolster the wide receiver group. It’s long past time. I fully expect this team to be back competing for a division title next year.
