Wk6 H-Group Chat: NYG at DEN (-11.5)

*This is the transcript of our Handicapping group wager chat for this particular game. Taking it as it is, so forgive any typos, etc. It's just casual opinions shared. Also, we may veer way off topic but that's half the fun of it.

FFM Computer: 47-30, B5: 17-8, Best Bet 3-2

Skolman: 44-33; Blazing 5: 16-9; Best Bet: 3-2

Savage: 43-34; Blazing 5: 14-11; Best Bet: 2-3

Rabbitt: 40-37; Blazing 5: 14-11; Best Bet: 3-2

RC: 39-38 Blazing 5: 15-10; Best Bet: 1-4

Katz: 36-41; Blazing 5: 9-16; Best Bet: 1-4

Colin: 15-10 on his B5

Katz: We all have similar thoughts on first glance - how exactly are the Giants going to score any points? Well, how are they going to score points?

Rabbitt: Sterling shepherd is just reportedly confirmed out.  Can Evan Engram single handedly keep this game within 11? I really doubt it.  People are also forgetting just how beat up the Giants are on defense as well.  This has all the makings of a blowout.

Savage: It scares me that A) nobody is giving the Giants a chance and B) this total is only 39. I wouldn't be shocked if this was something like 17-3 in 4th quarter with the Giants trying to score against a prevent.

RC: The record/stats of Eli without OBJ are pretty sobering. Going back for 2-3+ years. How will the Giants and backup WRs, a broken O-Line, a defense with injury and suspension, a team quitting in general…go in and beat a rested Denver team needing to win to keep pace with KC. If NYG could like run the ball 50+ times and try to keep the score down…but they can’t run it either.

Skolman:   Anything can happen of course, but in my mind this is the biggest mismatch of the entire season and it isn't even the biggest spread of the week.  Reminds me of the Steelers/Colts Tolzien game last year on Thanksgiving night.  I think we have a disadvantage that can't be accounted for in the line.  I think the Giants have (by far) the worst chance of all big underdogs of covering.

Savage: That's a pretty good comparison. I remember having the same feeling before that Tolzien game, trying to find a reason to take the dog and coming up with nothing.

Katz: I couldn't agree more with the group. They really couldn't make this line high enough. I think at 14 or even 17, I would still take Denver. I truly believe the Giants may not score.
