Xavier Cromartie's Computer Simulated 2019 Conference Finals and Super Bowl with his commentary...

Each day Xavier and R.C. will post another installment taking it right up to their Super Bowl winners...neither knew each others projections when doing their own. They were done in secret and submitted and we will post them piece-by-piece until the finale. Check FFM for all the installments posted previously.

Championship round:

A1 New England Patriots v A2 Los Angeles Chargers:

Can we get the LA v LA Bowl? Last season, the Patriots rolled through the Chargers, but the circumstances were different. The Patriots were coming off the bye. The Chargers had so many injuries to their LBs that they replaced them all with a seven DB look. That plan worked against Lamar Jackson's speed but got crushed by the Patriots' power. The Patriots are not 28 points better than the Chargers. The line on that game was 4 points, and 3 of those are from the home advantage. Unfortunately for the Chargers, the Pats have that home advantage again. The Pats also still have Brady's quick passes to Julian Edelman before Joey Bosa can get to Brady. Thus, the Patriots go through again. Patriots 24, Chargers 22.

N1 Los Angeles Rams v N2 New Orleans Saints:

This rematch seems inevitable since these two teams are clearly above the rest of the NFC. The Saints won the game last season; the refs just refused to call it. The line was 3.5, which was mathematically correct. The Saints were slightly better and had the 3 home points. This time, however, the Rams are the home team. With some changes on defense and the return of Cooper Kupp, the Rams are now also the slightly better team. The situation is the mirror image of last season. If the more deserving team goes through, it will be the Rams. Rams 26, Saints 23.

A1 New England Patriots v N1 Los Angeles Rams:

It's a rematch of Super Bowl LIII. The most "boring" possibility tends to be the right one. The common folk love the underdog (loser) story. The LA Bowl or Brees v Rivers would be exciting matchups, but there is no room for personal desires in projections. Last year's line was Patriots by 2.5. But these teams are closer this season, almost evenly matched. Cooper Kupp in the slot will give the Patriots a problem they didn't have last time. Edelman will still terrorize the Rams, but he'll have to watch out for Rapp and Weddle this time. How's this ending for not being boring: the Rams, trailing 21-16, score a touchdown with 20 seconds left to go up 22-21. They attempt the two-point conversion to go up by 3. But Chase Winovich tips the pass into the hands of Stephon Gilmore! Gilmore (4.38 40) races down the sideline! Brandin Cooks (4.33) tries to run him down but gets obliterated by Joejuan Williams (6'4 211 lb)! Two points for Gilmore! Seven rings for Brady! Patriots 23, Rams 22.
