Sometime after the Super Bowl the first ‘Rewind’ reports for 2016 will start rolling off the assembly line. ‘Rewind’ reports are a focused study of one player’s work from all of 2015 (and maybe further back) to ‘see what we see’. These reports are typically done on questionable players–backups ready to rise up, or fallen heroes, or players who were good-great statistically, but we are skeptical of. I go through all of their plays/touches/snaps from 2015 starting from the earliest date of play and working up to the end–spending a whole season with he player.
Last season, at times, we opened things up to a vote–giving out a cluster of options to choose from. To start the process this year, you tell me players of interest. Email me, no more than five players that you have curiosities or reservations on…and feel free to tell me why so I can get a feel for what everyone is thinking. The top vote getting player will be the first report out the chute. In the end, I hope I can hit my goal of 50 Rewinds this offseason.
Players I have my eye on (in no particular order): **NOTE THESE ARE EXAMPLES, VOTE FOR WHOMEVER YOU WISH**
Stefon Diggs — Re-examining the drop off, is it what I think it was looking at him on the ‘all 22’ tape
Ameer Abdullah — Is there anything here at all?
Todd Gurley — Was 2015 as good as we convinced ourselves?
T.Y. Hilton — What happened?
Ben Heeney and Jake Ryan — Late season surge going to be built upon in 2016?
Matt Ryan — What happened?
Jeremy Langford — Fact or Fiction?
Ladarius Green — Heading into free agency…rediculous decision by coach and QB, or a deeper reason why he never broke out in 2015
Jamison Crowder — Mildly hot, and then disappeared
Nelson Agholor — Myth or sleeper?
